Candidates qualifying for AFCAT 2 2024 will be eligible to join the courses that start in July 2025, and they will be granted Short Service Commission (SSC) in the Flying Branch and Ground Duty (Non-Technical and Technical) branches.

AFCAT 2 2024 Application Fee

To complete the online registration process for the post of Flying Officer, candidates need to pay the required application fees after filling up the form. Candidates have to deposit an amount of Rs. 550 using one of the provided payment gateway, for any category. Candidates applying through NCC are exempted from application fee payment.

AFCAT 2 2024 Eligibility Criteria

The candidates must fulfill the detailed eligibility criteria which include the educational qualification, age limit, marital status, and nationality to ensure their eligibility for the recruitment process. Candidates must check the eligibility details mentioned below.

  • Flying Branch & Ground Duty (Non-technical) – The candidate must have scored a minimum 50% marks each in physics and mathematics at 10+2 level and a three-year graduation degree OR a BE/BTech degree with a minimum of 60% from a recognized university.
  • Ground Duty (Technical)- i)Aeronautical engineering (Electronics)(AE(L)) – The candidate must have scored a minimum of 60% marks each in physics and mathematics at 10+2 level and a degree in graduation/post-graduation in the field of engineering and technology from a recognized university.

Age Limit (as on 01/01/2025)

Check the age limit mentioned below for the post of Flying Officer and Ground Duty.

  • Flying Branch – 20 to 24 years (Candidate must have been born between 02/01/2001 to 01/01/2005)
  • Ground Duty (Technical & Non-Technical)- 20 to 26 years (Candidate must have been born between 02/01/1999 to 01/01/2005)

Marital Status

Candidate must be unmarried at the time of commencement of the course i.e. July 2025 and marriage is not allowed during the time of course or training. Candidates marrying during this period will be discharged from the course, and need to refund all expenditure incurred by the Government on him or her.

Nationality

The candidate must be a citizen of India as per the Indian Citizenship Act 1955.

AFCAT 2 2024 Selection Process

The selection of candidates for the AFCAT 2 2024 will be based on the three stages. Candidates have to qualify for each stage to get selected for the next stage of selection and to enter the course. The selection stages are as follows:

  • Written Test
  • AFSB Interview
  • Medical Examination

Written Test Exam Pattern

Candidates must go through the exam pattern mentioned below for the AFCAT 2 204 Notification. This exam pattern will help you to understand the exam structure and help you in your preparation for the upcoming exam schedule in September 2024.

  • Negative Marking- 1 mark

The written exam will contain General Awareness, Verbal Ability in English, Numerical Ability and Reasoning, and Military Aptitude Test.

AFCAT 2 2024 Salary

The salary of a Flying Officer will be Rs. 56100- Rs. 177500  at Level 10 with an MSP of Rs. 15500. The training will begin in the first week of July 2025. The duration of training is 62 and 52 weeks for Ground Duty and Air Force Training Establishments respectively.
