In 2014, a simple decision changed Kabita Singh’s life forever.

With her young son starting school, she found herself with pockets of free time — moments that many might have filled with routine activities. But Kabita had a different vision. She chose to pursue her love for cooking, turning her kitchen into a virtual classroom through YouTube.

“I just wanted to share authentic, simple recipes that anyone could make,” she recalls about starting “Kabita’s Kitchen”. Between managing her home and caring for two young children, she would set up her camera, often filming late into the night after her kids were asleep.

Her approach was refreshingly straightforward — no fancy ingredients, no complicated techniques, just clear, practical cooking demonstrations that resonated with millions of Indians looking to master their kitchen skills. Her videos became a trusted resource for everyone from college students to working professionals to homemakers.

What began as a passion project exploded into something extraordinary. Today, Kabita’s Kitchen boasts over 14 million subscribers, making her one of the few Indian content creators to receive YouTube’s prestigious Diamond Play Button.

But perhaps what’s most inspiring about Kabita’s story isn’t just the numbers — it’s how she proved that with dedication and authenticity, a homemaker’s passion could transform into a phenomenon that helps millions cook better meals every day.

Her journey from a home kitchen to digital stardom shows that it’s never too late to pursue your dreams, even if they start with something as simple as a recipe video.
